Title Aqueduct repairs
Description In the 1960's the aqueduct which had carried the Peak forest canal over the River Goyt for a century and a half, was leaking, so that this section of the canal was unusable, and "the Cheshire Ring" was not complete. Dr. Cyril Boucher, a civil engineer, was a leading force behind the restoration of the locks and the aqueduct. In this picture he is leading a party across the aqueduct while repairs are in progress.
