Title Unwin obituary
Description Appreciation of George Unwin, his life, work and connection to Edinburgh University, from The Scotsman dated Feb 3 1925. Item includes details of how mill papers were found while Austrian prisoners of war were working at mill site. Reportedly a boy scout found there some weavers' pay tickets which were eventually given to Unwin, whowas employed at Manchester University at the time and was able to visit the mill, discovering a mass of records in the old mill loft. These formed the basis of his research into the cotton industry disctrict at the time.
