Title "Roman Lake" from NE
Description The "Roman Lake" was originally made as a water supply for Samuel Oldknow's Mellor Mill. It is now used for pleasure boating; The three white dots near the centre of the picture are the sterns of three upturned boats. The Marple to New Mills railway runs across the picture and can be seen where it crosses the river Goyt on a viaduct. The houses above that are on Strines Road.
